A year on the road ends with meeting customers in Sweden and Russia

At trade shows and exhibitions around the world, the past year has definitely been a memorable one for the Escape team. We have brought our functional training solutions to fitness industry professionals everywhere, from the USA to the UK, and Germany to China.

Bringing this year of international exposure to a close was our involvement in two of Europe’s biggest fitness events, in Sweden and Russia. Once again, visitors could get up close and personal with our training tools during great workouts.

Escape in Russia

Sweden: Fitness Festivalen 2016

Escape distributor Fitness Brands had a great booth at the Fitness Festivalen show on 1-3 December. Known as ‘Northern Europe's biggest weekend of inspiration for exercise and active health’, the show brings together fitness challenges, physique competitions, activities for children, and even a World Armwrestling League event.

An integral part of the show is the trade fair, with more than 100 companies exhibiting. Fitness Brands has been a part of the show for many years and once again brought energy and enthusiasm to the event. This year, they built a bigger functional space than ever with a lot of Escape products, including Slamballs, Corebags, Bulgarian Bags and Multi Grip Medballs.

The Funxtion Experience Station was there and Fitness Brands were able to show how well this integrates with Escape’s functional training tools. They also made sure that Escape flooring was integral to the experience, with a Speed Track used for work with Lateral Endurance Hurdles, Speed Discs, TIYRs and Plyosoft Boxes.

Emma Lundgren of Fitness Brands says: “We had a great response from visitors who wanted to come in to the booth and play with the products and test them. The feedback was that the booth was really welcoming. People especially liked the combination of the RACK5 storage rack and functional equipment. They also liked the TIYR very much.”

Emma tells us that there was a lot of discussion among visitors on what successful clubs will look like in the future and what members want. The need to meet the challenge presented by the emerging boutique clubs was widely discussed.

Perhaps the most important part of Fitness Brands’ presence at the show was the series of workouts they ran. Emma says: “We ran different types of training all day long, from Tabata classes to small group training and large group sessions. These workouts gave us a chance to showcase products and visitors loved them.”

Russia: MIOFF 2016

Escape also made a big impression in Russia recently, thanks to our distributor Brunswick. They had a big presence at MIOFF 2016 in Moscow on 24-28 November. MIOFF (Moscow International Open Fitness Restival) is perhaps the most important fitness industry event in Russia, attracting 9,000 fitness professionals. Brunswick have a long-term relationship with this event dating way back to 2009.

Brunswick took a huge amount of Escape products with them to the show. New equipment such as STEP/RISER and Competition Pro Kettlebells was showcased, alongside Yoga Mats, Urethene Handweights, Resistance Tubes, Total Grip Medballs, TIYRs, Plyosoft Boxes, Corebags, Slamballs and more. To keep the equipment neat and tidy, four storage racks were also there.

Elena Lapko of Brunswick says that visitors to the stand were very impressed by the bright, colourful design of the Escape equipment. The Escape Deck 2.0, TIYR and Plyosoft Box seemed to attract the most attention, although the range as a whole was admired.

Escape’s Steve Barrett flew into Moscow to run four workouts per day based around the Deck 2.0. He also got visitors to the booth involved in challenges with the TIYR and Plyosoft Boxes. Elena says: “The workouts helped to attract the attention of visitors and there’s no better way of demonstrating how the products can be used.”
