How the Escape team made FIBO bigger and better this year
Wow, what a great time we had in Cologne at FIBO this month! We enjoyed meeting up with old friends and joining forces with our distributors to show Cologne exactly what Escape is made of.
For those who don’t know, FIBO is the leading international trade fair for fitness, wellness and health. Held annually since 1985, FIBO attracts over 150,000 visitors from all over the world. What we love about FIBO is that it not only presents current trends within the fitness world, but it gives attendees the chance to get up close and personal to the best products and training programmes the industry has to offer - a very exciting event to be a part of!
Thanks to all who brought energy to our stand and helped bring it to life. For those of you who couldn’t make it to FIBO, here is a re-cap of everything you missed: new product launches, group programming solutions and fun challenges.
As always the event was a fantastic place to showcase new products - which attendees were excited to test drive. The products launched at the show are set to be released later in the year. Let’s take a look at some of the big hitters now.
Take plyometric training to a new level with multi-planar bounding on the PLYO360. The octagonal shape opens up opportunities for box jump patterns in frontal, lateral and transverse planes.
Adding to the challenge are target markings as part of the top surface design, giving users precise areas to aim for. Train on it and around it, solo or in partner and team exercises, or whenever there's a need for extra-dynamic plyo workouts.
The T2 is packed with facilities for pull-ups, dips, boxing, barbell lifting and more. Switch quickly between these frame-based exercises and use of the functional tools neatly stored on the integral rack. The T2 really excels as a hub for small group training, with users moving from station to station to get a whole body workout.
Octagon Target Range
This range lets you mount targets exactly where you want them for the two main styles of ball target exercise. Install a target up high for the classic ‘squat-and-throw’ wall ball exercise, or lower down for rotational throws and super-fast strikes at close range. Strong clamps lock the targets in place, while tough marine ply and a robust wipe-clean paint finish will keep them looking great.
The MONO gives clubs the core functionality needed for strength training, but with the smallest possible footprint. It can be supplied either as a freestanding frame or ready to bolt to the gym floor, and comes complete with catch racks and pull-up bar.
Octagon Half BOX
The next step up in terms of size, the Half BOX adds extended catch rack arms for squats and bench presses. Weight horns take care of plate storage, plus there are pull-up bars and a horizontal beam for suspension trainers and resistance bands.
Octagon WOD BOX
The all-in-one location for strength workouts. It’s packed with facilities including catch racks, extended catch rack arms and weight horns, along with catch straps and locators for adjustable pins for use with resistance bands.
There are also pull-up bars for bodyweight exercises, along with attachment points for a Torso Trainer and Battle Ropes.
2017 is an exciting year for Escape with the availability of three group programming solutions. Now any club can bring fantastic group training experiences to their members.
The Escape suite of group training programmes keeps getting better and FIBO presented the perfect opportunity to show off all three programmes in the range: MOVE IT, BATTLE FIT and HIIT THE DECK.
The team were on hand during the whole event to showcase our ‘business in a box’ models. These include everything you need to get started, including:
- Comprehensive instruction manuals for trainers.
- Videos and coaching notes of ready-to-run workouts and individual exercises.
- Instruction specific to each type of equipment.
- Marketing materials to help you promote the programmes to members.
The live demonstrations for each programme presented by Escape’s Head of Training and Programing Tommy Matthews were amongst the highlights of our time at FIBO. One of the programmes that certainly caused a stir from the crowds was BATTLE FIT.
As an intense bootcamp-style functional training workout designed by former military officers, BATTLE FIT is based around high-intensity 35-minute workouts, intended to push participants past their comfort zone to their best ever fitness levels.
Let’s hand over to Tommy Matthews, to tell you more in this promo video filmed at FIBO 2017…
In true Escape style, stand visitors were challenged to go head to head with our Escape Master Trainers throughout the four days.
Attendees who dared take on the task hooked the crowd in as they tried their best to win some prizes - the atmosphere was electric.
Including the TIYR flip challenge, Plyosoft Box jump and Quad Sled push and pull, the turnout was fantastic. Check out Escape Trainer and former professional Rugby Union player Darren Fox setting the bar high with the TIYR flip challenge.
