Hit the Deck: the latest workout from Escape
The Deck is now an established feature of gyms around the world. If you have had any experience with it you will know why: it offers a huge variety of options for exercises and workouts, and yet is relatively simple. The latest version of the Deck – the Escape Deck 2.0 – was launched about 18 months ago, adding even better design, engineering and performance to this platform favourite.
Any competent trainer will be able to get clients working out on the Deck. But trainers can get so much more from the Deck when they fully understand it and have a thorough grounding in its many configurations and possibilities. This is why Escape has created product training and programming for clubs who want to get their PTs or coaches integrating the Deck into workouts.
Let’s take a look at the new Deck Product Training Workshop and Deck Group Training Programme…
ESCAPE DECK 2.0 PRODUCT TRAINING WORKSHOP
This is the latest in a series of more than a dozen two-hour Product Training Workshops that can be delivered to trainers in a club, or that they can take via our online resources. When opting for the in-club version, all of the online resources are also available to participants.
The workshop includes the following:
Extensive information on the features and functions of the Deck 2.0. Trainers will become fully trained and confident in the many ways that the Deck 2.0 can be set up, based around its three modes: Step, Bench and Ramp.
A library of more than 30 essential Deck exercises. These range from basic stepping to bodyweight strength moves and exercises incorporating dumbbells, barbells and resistance tubes for greater variety. There is a specially-filmed video for each of the exercises, in which Deck guru Steve Barrett explains the techniques in detail. The written workshop manual also features pictures and further guidance notes for every exercise.
Six ready-to-go Deck workouts. These workouts are suitable for the majority of gym members and can be delivered on a one-to-one basis or in small groups of up to eight people. Each session can be adapted to fit up to a 45-minute time slot and uses familiar circuit training methodology.
The Deck Time Trial. A great way of assessing and tracking clients’ fitness, the Deck Time Trial is challenging but highly inclusive and easy to administer. Grab a Deck and a timer, and take clients through a warm-up and ten one-minute exercises.
After attending a Workshop, or working through the content online, trainers will be all set to deliver the workouts that it features. They will also feel able to develop their own exercises and workouts in order to use the Deck for many years to come.

ESCAPE DECK 2.0 GROUP TRAINING PROGRAMME
This is all about giving trainers and clubs a complete solution for large group programming and includes:
All of the content from the Product Training Workshop. The product information, exercise library, workouts and time trial are all part of the package.
Three ‘exercise to music’ workouts – including demonstration videos and music. These three workouts give clubs off-the-shelf programming. Each workout follows the same format: interval training that blends together cardio, strength and plyometrics. The package includes full-length videos and specially-created music downloads for each workout, which can be delivered as 30-minute or 45-minute sessions.
Once trainers have become familiar with the workouts they will be able to create their own following a similar format. That means that these three workouts lay the foundation for years of programming, full of variety to keep members motivated and engaged.
Look out for more information soon on the Deck 2.0 Group Training Programme and other programmes in the series.
